HOW TO TEACH YOUR DOG TO FETCH PERFACTLY

Training a dog to to play fetch and retrieve object for you is not as difficult as it seems and in this blog I am going to tell you just how to do that.
First let talk a look the benefits of teaching your dog to fetch it allows your dog to exercise more efficiently and maintain their health this one is important because most people don't luxury of spending all day with their dogs.Playing Fetch also enhance the relationship that you have with your dog because it is interactive relies on cooperation it cant also help transition your dog to working for non food reinforcers because one dog see it as fun game then we can use it as a currency in training and finally teaching a dog to hold carry and drop objects at a specified location can be a very usefull task that many working dogs are expected to perform.
 The most effective way to teach this behaviour depends on breaking the task down into many separate little components and working on each  separately before putting together this is some thing you want to work on at your dog pace and no two dog are going to be similar in how they learn this and to do this.

now lets move to the different part of the fetch.

1. The dog has to go to the object. 
2. The dog has to hold the object. 
3. The dog will carry on the object back to the person.

1st step :

Teach take it 

first thing teaching the dog to hold on the object in their mouth start by using  thing that is easy for the dog to hold its cold be something that you have already found that your dog likes to hold in their mouth such a favourite toy or ball.

2nd step :

 Reword interest

be generous with your reword at this stage of the training. Eventually reword only mouthing  the object 

3rd step :

Introduce verbal cue 

With the passage of training introduce verbal cue for the fetch 

after few session once your dog consistently mounting the object start to increase the amount of time that you ask your dog to hold on to it use Yes good boy on the perfect task done by the dog.

Step 4 :

Teach give 

At this  point we can now introduce the give cue instead of rewording your dog for holding on to the object ask them to give encourage them to go to the object and quickly mark and reward for letting go for it.

Step 5:

Add the distance /carrying 

At this point you should have a solid take it and give.its now time to introduce some distance and encourage your dog to walk towards you with the object and (start with small step )

• give the command to take it and give it together.
• practice different angles.
• increase distance gradually.
• reword only when dog placing object in your hand.
• toss the object a short distance.
• reword for give.
• introduce the fetch cue.
• try to do the same exercise on the different object and on different envirnoments.
